How to Save Money at Exxon Mobil

Saving money at Exxon Mobil starts with the Exxon Mobil Rewards+™ program, but there are many other ways to save. That includes use of the Exxon Mobil Smart Card+™ (a “cents-off-per-gallon” credit card), or the use of the Upside app, a popular app that offers cash back at select gas stations and convenience stores.

1. THE EXXON MOBIL REWARDS+ PROGRAM
Exxon Mobil’s free fuel rewards program saves you at least 3 cents per gallon at the pump and at least 2 cents per dollar spent on qualifying purchases at the company’s convenience stores.

You can earn additional cash back per gallon by virtue of:
– Bonus offers (like 2x Summer Saturday points from June 7 – August 30, 2025)
– Being a “Frequent Filler”
– Being a member of AARP
– Purchasing Premium fuel

Frequent Filler status is achieved by purchasing at least 100 gallons of fuel in a calendar month.  To maintain Frequent Filler status, you need to continue to buy at least 100 gallons of gas each month.  

Every 100 points earned = $1 in rewards. Points expire if, as of December 31 of each year, if they were credit at least one year prior.

Being a member of AARP gets you up to 2 cents in points per dollar spent on fuel and/or in-store purchases.

Refer a Friend to the Exxon Mobil Rewards+ program
If you already are a member of Exxon Mobil Rewards+ you can earn 100 bonus points (up to 5x a month) by referring a friend using the unique referral code you are assigned. The individual you refer must make a qualifying fuel (8 gallon minimum) or convenience store purchase within 30 days of registering for both parties to earn the 100-point bonus.

Start an ExxonMobil Rewards+ Points Circle
An ExxonMobil Rewards Points Circle can include up to 9 family members of friends. Anyone in your Points Circle can earn or redeem rewards.

2. THE EXXON MOBIL SMART CARD+™
The Exxon Mobil Smart Card+ is a “cents-off-per-gallon” credit card.
– Get $0.12 back per gallon in instant savings on every gallon of Synergy Supreme+™ premium gasoline.
– Get $0.10 per gallon on other grades of Synergy™ fuel every time you fill up.

The Exxon Mobil Smart Card+ comes with a cash-back rebate
At the end of every month, get 5% cash back on in-store purchases and car washes. The cash back comes as a statement credit on the first $1,200 in non-fuel purchases per year at qualifying Exxon (and Mobil) stations. Excluded in-store purchases include fuel, lottery, money orders, and gift cards.

Note: The ExxonMobil Smart Card+ is a proprietary credit card that can only be used at participating Exxon (and Mobil) stations. Also, Exxon Mobil Rewards+ points are NOT earned on purchases made with the Exxon Mobil Smart Card+ credit card.

3. CHECK THE UPSIDE APP WHENEVER YOU VISIT EXXON MOBIL STATIONS
Some Exxon Mobil stations have offers in the Upside app, which typically offers $0.08 to 0.25 cents cash back per gallon when you use a linked credit card to purchase gasoline at stations featured in the app. Simply hit the ‘Claim’ button to claim the station’s offer prior to purchase.
